Open East Festival: Visit And Relive memories Of London Olympics

Open East FestivalThe Open East Festival being held from 27-28 July will mark the first anniversary of the London 2012 Games. Ticket holders will see north of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park being set for a packed weekend in all revelry charged by high octane entertainment, art and culinary wonders.  The event is one of the first events to be held in the newly reopened Park.

Organisers of the Festival

The event is being organised in association with the Barbican and east London arts venture Create.  The performances from groups like Theatre Royal Stratford East, Boy Blue and Ida Barr will enrich the festival.

Music

A rare fusion of music and international acts will be spearheaded by The Waterboys, Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 and Malian artists including Amadou & Mariam. The audience can be sure of an amazing array of pop-up performances all across the Park.  An Art Car Boot Fair by East London artists named Caught By The River will share their passion for literature, music and beer while hosting celebrated authors and musicians

The Eco Design Fair will showcase the vintage as well as contemporary design reigning in London. So never out the occasion and visit the festival theatre tent to enjoy a dance or even a sing-a-long.

Story Telling sessions

For teens and youngsters the exhilarating House of Fairy Tales will present an  interactive storytelling by Discover Children’s Story Centre.  Charlie Dark’s hip-hop, poetry puppet and a multitude of other things will keep you engaged. Other attractions include Encounter Joey produced by the National Theatre, War Horse and masterpiece at the Art Car Boot Fair.

Taste the Flavours

For food lovers, a great treat is in store as they can experience the flavours of the world at the Real Food Festival. So join a communal feast on one of the bridges over the River Lea or take out time for a quiet picnic on its banks. The visitors will get to taste the flavours at 70 stalls set by London’s best street food sellers and producers.
